LOL! Well, maybe it isn't a weight issue? Don't know, but would like to know. The flywheel issue is a whole other can of crap. I have written entire articles on the flywheel thing. Hope nobody thinks I'm trying to be a you-know-what disturber. I'm just hoping to eliminate a major potential failure point. So again- if anybody who was involved in the writing of the rules could chime in here, that would be great!

Member Posts: 115 | The flywheel rule is a good one. Pullers have had tractors cut in half and people lose limbs because of flywheel failure. You have to look at the liability the club has. Insurance is expensive and it only take one injury of a fan to have them lose their insurance. I applaud them for adding this to the rules. Eventually it will be mandatory across the board to minimize liability. It has nothing to do with taking away fun. It is to keep the club insured. The tranny rule is different. It is not a liability of injury..it is an increase in cost to the racer. Two new trannies from ec cost more than one flywheel from arc.

Shrek.. then why is it mandatory in the US for ungoverned engines... time for you to read the US rules. Anyways you don't know what your talking about.. the club you are talking about had most of their tractors purchased by Americans for the new FX class in the states which is growing very fast. It's hard to say no to that amount of money for your machine. If you don't know the actual reason for the reduction in the tractor count in that class.. then don't comment. Anyways.. back to the 700 topic...
